Hello and welcome to my website. I have been involved in art and design all my life. Firstly as an enthusiastic beginner and then through my junior and secondary school in Bristol to a specialist art training in Bath and then Bristol.
Following my degree in Art and Design, and teacher training, I have worked in schools in Wiltshire teaching art and was seconded to Wiltshire Advisory Service in the mid-eighties. I have also worked for one of the leading examination boards as a senior examiner for both GCSE and A level art and design. Also for a number of years I was a visiting lecturer at both Reading and Bath Universities on their post-graduate courses in Art and Design.
Since retirement from full-time teaching I have been involved in running classes for both adults and children and am currently involved with a local art society. I also run sessions for sixth form students and also offer printmaking classes to adults and individuals.
I am fortunate in having both a Columbian and an Albion printing press in my own purpose-built studio and spend much of my time experimenting with abstract images in the pursuit of resolving harmonious balances of colour, form, and line. I also relish the technical challenge of producing realistic images, often being influenced by my local rural surroundings here in Gloucestershire.
I welcome enquiries about my work , offer some prints for sale and would be pleased to hear from members of the public who might like to purchase work seen here on the website or would just like to know what else is available. I am also happy to hear from people who would like to have a go at printmaking for the first time or reacquaint themselves with the craft of printmaking, something that they may have experienced in school or Art College. I can offer training in lino printing, wood engraving, mono printing, monotype, silkscreen printing and drawing. All classes or individual tuition is tailor-made to ensure that participants receive the very best experience in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.
